Fantastic holiday in an idyllic villa. Far more beautiful than the photographs suggest. The scenery is breathtaking and Gaucin is a charming and friendly village with stunning views in all directions.

Rosa Alta is located near the beautiful village of Gaucin.
The house was clean, comfortable and the swimming pool was a treat during those hot afternoons in July. We never got tired of the views from the property, and from Gaucin there are many other white villages to visit within a 30-60 minute drive.
We would have no hesitation renting this property again.

We had a great time at Rosa Alta. It felt as if the Counry House, gardens, swimming pool etc were built with great care. The view was beautiful, the nature just great in Spring and the weather was nice. The silence and privacy we really liked. Rosa Alta is not a ‘ spic and span’ new house , but it’ s a house with a soul.

This is a lovely secluded yet comfortable house in the Andalusian countryside. Stunning view over the beautiful valley and nearby Gaucin. Peaceful and quiet, just the sound of the sheep passing by. With 40+ degree temperatures, the nice pool and airco in the bedrooms were a real bonus. In short: a home away from home. Plenty to see and do in the vicinity. Or you can just relax and let the days go by in this peaceful place. Friendly cleaning staff. All facilities were present. Some really nice restaurants nearby. We’ll be back!

This was one of the best accomodation/venue holidays we have ever had. Everything about the overall experience was faultless.
The villa has everything you could need, the location has spectacular views, and the village of Gaucin (a mile away) is a delight. The tranquility of the surroundings, the facilities in the Villa meant that you can enjoy a variety of activities from sunbathing/swimming, to energetic walking; from spectacular sightseeing to eating in the many local tapas bars, all of which were excellent. Further afield rural Spain offers many hidden gems.
This Villa is recommended to anyone wanting to experience these delights.

My vacation in Gaucin at Rosa Alta was one of the most special times I have had while traveling. Rosa Alta offers a rustic setting overlooking the town of Gaucin, yet the property has so many wonderful amenities … a spectacular swimming pool, and outside patio and eating area as well as a rooftop deck to enjoy the summer evenings. The inside quarters are quaint, with lots of room to house a family.
The property is immaculately maintained, and the owners provided lots of information about local attractions so we felt like locals when we were exploring.
Gaucin is a quaint village with welcoming residents … and phenomenal restaurants. I can’t wait to return!

The house is simply amazing if you’re looking to get away from it for a while. It has been beautifully furnished, both inside and out. In fact, the outside space is amazing with views down over the valley as well as up to the town. You’re not overlooked in any way so you can really get away from it for a while. Highly recommended – we’ll definitely be back!

Rosa Alta was all we had hoped – a quiet off the beaten track property, yet close to Gaucin. The house was lovely with lots of places to relax and ponder the view. At night, the lights of Gaucin and the Castle made the upper terrace a romantic spot for dinner. The children loved the pool which was bigger than we had expected, so a real bonus. The agent, Robin was very helpful, especially when I developed a tooth abscess, organising an emergency appointment with an English speaking dentist for me. Great holiday.

A Superb Holiday Home!

We have stayed in many villas over the years, and we can honestly say that this is the highest quality overall that we have ever enjoyed. The situation is beautiful (although the suggestion of hiring a 4×4 should be heeded!) and the property itself is so well equipped and homely we just didn’t want to leave! Gaucin is a perfect village to be near (and what a view of it from the finca!), with several good restaurants and bars without being too touristy, and the countryside is just stunning – particularly the eagles soaring around overhead each day! We shall certainly return to Rosa Alta – we just hope not too many other people find it as we may have trouble booking!

The best thing about my experience in renting this house was dealing with Nancy and her property manager, who were very informative and responsive in every step.
The property itself is fantastic. Picturesque views, amazing outdoor spaces to relax in, a nice pool, and comfortable living arrangements. We really enjoyed our time here. Our trip in May was at the height of wildflowers, so the countryside was drenched in beautiful color. The downside was that we experienced a bit of rain and a cold snap. The house has fire stoves to make for a cozy setting, but you should have the knowhow to use them if you come outside of the peak of summer.
Gaucin itself is quaint and has enough restaurant and food options to please anyone. Highlights of regional tours included the Cueva de las Piletas and Ronda; we did Sevilla and Granada though they were a bit far. The dirt track to the house was a little bit daunting at first, but the gardener made it in a SmartCaresque-mobile. We didn’t have any problems even in days of solid light rain.
Highly recommended. If my future experiences renting houses in Spain goes like this, I’ll consider myself lucky.

We’ve recently returned from a 1 week holiday in this lovely away-from-it-all villa. Although initially rather daunted by the track up to the villa (a 4×4 is recommended), the villa itself more than made up for the steep climb – fabulous views across the valley towards Gaucin, a lovely large pool, and a great shady terrace. The beds were very comfortable and great to wake in the morning to the sound of birds and little else. Plenty of outdoor sitting areas including a rooftop terrace with a spectacular outlook. Wifi was an added bonus. Highly recommended if you want a peaceful, rustic villa in a fabulous setting.
